Is being in a Drum-line or Marching Band considered doing some kind of sport?

Some people think that Marching Band and Drum-lines aren't considered sports. Recently being part of a drum-line, i have realized that it can be considered a sport in my eyes, yet some people still tend to disagree.

And this topic is always argued. YES Marching band, drum corps, indoor ensembles–we all work just as hard as any football, basketball, or whatever sport player! I don’t care what they say; they don’t know how hard we work. Some bands might work harder than others but they all work. Sports require Physical activity and competition–do we have that?? Yes! Just because people like to tease us and what not, doesn’t take away anything.
We are The Sport of the Arts
It’s printed on t-shirts and everything, look it up. lol
You’re in a band and it’s certainly not a sport. Band members are not athletes.
Rachel,
You’re in the fishing section of Y/A. The only drum on these lines are either Red or Black ( species of fish we…anyways..) you might want to ask your question on the next block of Y/A concerning bands and what not. As for your question, if you feel good about it, get exercise from it, are out doors and it makes you feel good, call it your sport, who gives a sh— what anyone thinks! It’s all about you. ~good luck catchin’.
It appears that you have posted your question to the wrong category (…you are currently in Fishing.)
