I have v bad lower back pain which radiates into my hips, right knee and up to my ribcage. ive had MRI scan and various other things done and am now being referred to a pain management consultant and his team...
What exactly is the pain management team going to do for me? i am already on high dose painkillers. Am i just going to begiven more painkillers, or is someone actually going to try and find out whats wrong with my back thats causing me so much pain??? i am concerned im just going to be fobbed off with pain killers and at some point in the future im going to find out there is something seriously wrong with me that should have been dealt with years ago!!!!

My 8 year old husky has arthritis in her hips, are there any natural forms of pain relief that might help her? Massage, herbs, etc?
I ask because my dog has been on both Rimadyl (spelling?) and Deramax and they both make her throw up, so I was just wondering if there was something natural that would help her.

I have arthritis that has fused my SI joints, and had to also get both my hips replaced due to degeneration of the joint. I thought I had AS. But the tests did not come Positive, but that also is common with people with AS. How can I tell if I have AS or if it could be an Infectious Arthritis? I have had my condition since I was 15yrs

I am in sever chronic pain. I can not take anti-inflamitories / /NSAIDS for other medical reasons. I have tried vicodin, tylenol #3 and Darvoset. The first two do nothing, the Darvoset at its highest does just barely helps, but not enough. I am getting bounced around with refferals within my insurance plan and everyone I see says they can not treat the kind of pain I have, that I need a pain clinic. I went there and they said they will only do injections into the joints and that is all they do, so prescriptions or pain management. I feel like I am stuck. I have called all the dr's office, been to the urgent care and the pain dr, called my medical group and called my insurance - everyon tells me to talk to someone else!!!!!!!!! I am in so much pain and frustration. So, I was wondering if anyone knows anything else that might help me. The pain is from osteoarthritis in my hips.

How should I approach a doctor to prescribe me painkillers? I've had chronic pain in my back, hips, knees, and wrists for about 3 years now. In addition I was diagnosed with CMT when I was a child. I've taken just about everything other than narcotics ( pain patches, anti-inflammatory medicine, various high-doses of acetaminophen and ibuprofen, etc etc.) But when I asked my doctor about trying a painkiller, he told me I was just looking to get high, and I have no real business taking them. Now, I can understand that a pain management doctor will see his/her fair share of junkies, but I had been seeing him for months prior to this, and it was the first time I mentioned it. Needless to say I will NOT be seeing that doctor again, but I will still need to address my pain. So, when I do see another doctor, how should I go about getting something that actually works?
